PET which stands for polyethylene terephthalate, is a thermally crystalline resin. Thermal crystallinity means that it can be made transparent or opaque depending on how the heat treatment is performed during manufacturing and the prefix A is short for amorphous.

When PET is manufactured, it can be made transparent if it is cooled well during the heat treatment process to prevent thermal crystallization. PET that is made transparent by preventing thermal crystallization during the manufacturing process is also called A-PET. It is mainly used in the form of a sheet that requires transparency when applied in the production of display advertisements because it becomes opaque due to the thermal crystallization after insulation is added.
